Velomobile fans have a lot to look forward to at this year’s SPEZI in Lauchringen. Two manufacturers are bringing a total of three brand-new models to the show — and each one is shaping the future of speed, comfort, and performance in its own way.

Velomobile World: Bülk Distance

The team at Velomobile World is rolling out the red carpet for their latest creation: the Bülk Distance. This high-performance velomobile is all about speed, efficiency, and long-distance capability. With its aerodynamic design and smart engineering, the Bülk Distance is built for riders who want to go further, faster, and more comfortably. If long tours or ultra-efficient commuting are on your wishlist, this one’s worth a test ride.

What do we already know? It has a longer tail for better aerodynamics, which should give it up to a 5% increase in speed. The wheel wells are covered, but the cover is removable for easy access.

Velomobiel.nl: The New Quest 3.0 and Strada

Meanwhile, over at Velomobiel.nl, something equally exciting is about to make its debut. The company is set to introduce a long-anticipated project of the Quest 3.0, plus adding a little surprise in the form of the new Strada. The original very successful Quest has already been discontinued, and we published an interview with Allert Jacobs a few months ago, however the team at Velomobile.nl has been working on the new version (on and off) since 2015.

What do we already know? Both are basically identical, just Strada has open wheel wells and a wider track for a better turning radius. Besides the huge main hatch, they will both have a large size service hatch in the front.

Whether you’re into pushing personal limits or just love geeking out over elegant engineering, these new velomobiles are must-sees at the show. With SPEZI just around the corner, next weekend (April 26–27 2025) in Lauchringen, Germany, it’s the perfect time to discover what’s next in the world of human-powered speed machines.
