Last year Trident Trikes introduced the Half Pint children trike at Cycle-Con and was a huge success. Its sales exceeded expectations, and customers often asked Trident what they would do when their child or grandchild outgrew the Half Pint. So it’s no surprise that Tom Flohr and his team introduced a larger version at this year’s Cycle-Con and named it the 3/4 Pint. And if you’re wondering if they’ll introduce the Pint next year, the answer is no. Bigger kids are already able to sit on the adult Trident.

The ¾ Pint will fit x-seams from approximately 23″ / 58 cm to 32″ / 82 cm. Most 9 – 15-year-olds should be able to fit this trike. The ¾ Pint features an aluminum frame, 18″ wheels with Schwalbe Marathon Tires, disc brakes, a custom aluminum seat with pad, and a Shimano Nexus 3-speed internal hub. The ¾ Pint is also lightweight, coming in at 22 ½ lbs / 10 kg. What stood out to me about the ¾ Pint were the cranks, which Trident has custom-made. When asked why they don’t use a conventional bottom bracket and commercially available cranks, which would undoubtedly be a cheaper albeit much heavier solution, Tom Flohr responded: “A standard bottom bracket with kids cranks would look inadequate on a ¾ Pint. They would be too big.” A surprising but very professional answer.

The ¾ Pint will retail for $879.00 and will be available in early 2025 at Trident Trikes Dealers as well as directly from Trident.
