The traditional Cycle-Con exhibition of recumbents and other special bikes was held again in late September in Xenia, Ohio. And once again it was bigger, with more exhibitors, in a larger hall, with more visitors, and even with two main draw prizes in the form of trikes, as well as two test tracks. The first asphalt one, which also had a gravel section, was about half a mile long. The second one was built by the folks at Steintrikes, featured lots of maybe-too-big rubber obstacles, and was used to test the suspension of the different trikes.
And those weren’t the only innovations. Among the ones that involved test rides, it was mainly the opportunity to test the velomobiles, which many took advantage of enthusiastically. Furthermore, HASE showed its hot new product in the form of another evolution of the now legendary HASE Kettwiesel ONE delta trike, Trident Trikes added a junior 3/4 Pint to its Half Pint children’s trike, AZUB presented its new logo and overall look, Bike Different exhibited its upgraded pedal, which is no longer the Barefoot Pedal but the Fullfoot Pedal, thus making it more meaningful, etc.
Among the new exhibitors at the Cycle-Con 2024 was Wahoo, a manufacturer of training wheels that recumbent riders use mainly in the winter months. Varibike, a brand of recumbent bikes that can be propelled with both feet and hands, was also represented, and Carbon Trikes were again on display.
Add to that two organised rides on Saturday evening and Sunday morning, lots of interesting lectures and workshops and a great atmosphere, and you have a great event worth attending.
And it is the atmosphere of the Cycle-Con 2024 that we have tried to capture in the video that we are bringing to you.
For the sake of completeness, let us also mention that the organizers have not yet indicated when and where the next edition will take place. However, it shouldn’t be Ohio anymore.
