I have received the following message from Charles Coyne, the organizer of Recumbent Cycle-Con yesterday and I have to say I am really sad. On the other hand, even few days ago it was already very unlikely I would be able to travel to the US because the US restrictions for travelers from the EU are rather strict and would mean additional 14 days of stay outside the EU and the US in some “COVID-safe” country as a kind of pre-quarantine. I have talked to guys from HP Velotechnik and ICE trikes as well, and we all have hoped for President Biden to lift the travel ban, but he has prolonged it several days ago. This was possibly part of Chuck’s decision to postpone the show as well. Hereunder is the official message. I hope I will be able to see you somewhere as soon as the virus will let us.
“We have made the difficult decision to postpone the 2021 Recumbent Cycle-Con. With the current surge in Covid cases, and so many unknowns about what may happen in the next two months, postponing seems like the most responsible thing to do at this point in time.
The Recumbent Cycle-Con has been rescheduled for October 7, 8-9, 2022, at The Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Dayton, Ohio!. As always, you’ll get the chance to see the newest recumbent bikes, trikes, and tandems, as well as ride all the new models on our Outdoor Demo Riding Arena. The Recumbent Cycle-Con is part of Cycle-Con Weekend, which include the Adaptive Cycling Expo, Bicycle Tour & Travel Expo, and the Electric Cycle-Con.
Join us for Cycle-Con Weekend next year, in Dayton, Ohio in 2022. The area boasts some of the best riding trails to be found in the U.S., with 30 miles of central-city trails, and access to the nation’s largest network of paved trails – more than 340 miles of the Miami Valley Trails network! Dayton is one of Bicycling Magazine’s Top 50 Cycling Cities, and is a League of American Bicyclists ‘Bike Friendly Community.’ Maybe even make your visit to Dayton and the show a working/riding vacation this year!
